I'm an ASP.NET Web Developer based in Braintree, Essex. I've been developing websites and online business solutions using Microsoft technologies for approximately 18 years.
I currently run my own small business developing and maintaining bespoke websites and database solutions for a number of clients in the Essex, Suffolk and Lincolnshire areas and also do contract jobs for other local web companies.

Kypera Software, Full-Time
Originally I started as a Contractor for Kypera, working on a project with The Insolvency Service in London. After the contract was complete I was taken on in a full-time role to help develop the company's core product "Kypera Financials", I decided to leave after a couple of years as the company continued to rely on a dated technology (Foxpro) that really had no future and I was concerned that continuing in my role would affect my future career.
- VB6 & VB.NET
- Visual Foxpro
ASP.NET / VB.NET / ASP 3.0
I first started web development using ASP 3.0 scripting and followed the technology as it evolved into ASP.NET.
Most of the solutions I have developed use VB.NET WEBFORMS and ADO.NET, I always preferred this architecture as it is similar to ASP 3.0 however I am gradually moving towards ASP.NET Core using Razor 3 and the Entity Framework.
In addition to web development I have also created several Windows-based programs including website scrapers and data processing applications.
MS SQL Server
T-SQL, Database Management, Database Design and Optimisation.
HTML5 & CSS3
I build both static and dynamic websites using HTML5 and CSS3 and have a full understanding of these standards.
Bootstrap 3 & 4
Most of the websites I create use the Bootstrap presentation architecture to allow them to perform well on all devices - from mobile to desktop.
- Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Windows Server
- Domain/DNS Management
